Why I Founded Homeward Paws

“As a registered veterinary technician with over 10 years of clinical experience, I founded Homeward Paws to provide professional-level support services in the comfort and safety of pets’ homes.

Throughout my decade in the field, I’ve seen how many animals struggle with travel stress, mobility limitations, scheduling challenges, or fear-related barriers that make clinic visits difficult. I believe that high-quality veterinary support doesn’t end at the clinic door. Homeward Paws was created to bridge that gap – delivering technician-led services that support your veterinarian’s treatment plan while reducing unnecessary stress for pets and their families throughout the Denver Metro area. “

Danielle Irigoyen

Lead Registered Veterinary Technician & Founder

Danielle brings over a decade of clinical veterinary experience to Homeward Paws Animal Care, with a professional background spanning general practice and emergency & critical care settings. Her early career included extensive perioperative and surgical support experience, followed by several years in fast-paced emergency medicine, where advanced patient monitoring, stabilization, and post-procedural care were daily practice.

In addition to canine and feline medicine, Danielle has over three years of experience working with exotic species and completed a three-month animal husbandry internship at Zoo Miami, expanding her understanding of diverse species care and behavioral management.

Danielle is deeply committed to continuing education and evidence-based practice. She holds multiple professional certifications, including RECOVER CPR certification, NAVC Pet Nutrition Coach certification, and prior Fear Free certification (renewal pending). She regularly attends veterinary conferences and advanced training programs to ensure the highest standard of technician-led support services.

Her approach to in-home care emphasizes structured collaboration with referring veterinarians, careful documentation, and a patient-centered commitment to safety, comfort, and clinical integrity.
